Explaining It Away
If you're looking outside of steroid use for a reason why in his age 31 season he all of a sudden had a massive resurgence, than umm well I got nothing really. I was going to look for a contract year, but no dice If you're looking at the massive resurgence in his year 34 season, than that could be when it was all about the benjamins. He had the massive year, got the Yankees money and then started to dip off each year following.
The Verdict
The Verdict is obvious, we know he did it. Even if we didn't know however, the massive jump back into 'prime' numbers at the age of 31 after a falloff the previous seasons is very questionable.
