NFL Week 10 Pick Suggestions

A full slate of games, finally. Maybe that's what's been bogging me down the past few weeks, I just have a hard time with #s less than 16 now that the full slate is in effect naturally I will have a big time week. Or I might as well be barred from picking football games ever again.

5. Dallas Cowboys (-6 1/2) vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals are done, they have no running game and they are placing too much pressure on the shoulders of Matt Leinart. Romo through two weeks has played very well and in places much more difficult to play than the Warm Sunshine in Arizona. A touchdown victory is not much to ask as the Cowboys desperately need this game for their playoff hopes with many difficult games to come.

4. Washington Redskins (+6 1/2) at Philadelphia Eagles

The Redskins are fighting for their lives right now and despite this being in Philly I expect this to be a very close game. The Eagles still do not have a very solid rushing offense and despite the terrific play of McNabb he can't do it all. I expect this game to be determined by a late field goal and therefore I'm taking the points.

3. Houston Texans (+10 1/2) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

So quickly we forget the fact that only a few weeks ago the Texans not only beat Jax but beat them comfortably. If Carr does not make mistakes and keeps feeding the ball to Andre Johnson the Texans will stay in the game, similar to how they did last week with the G-Men. Interesting stat that I bet you didn't know, David Carr is currently throwing at a 70% completion clip. That's pretty ridiculous.

2. Atlanta Falcons (-7 1/2) vs. Cleveland Browns

Sure Michael Vick didn't play very well last week but this is a crucial game for the Falcons playoff hopes and a must win. To add to that the Browns aren't any good, just cover Kellen Winslow and force Rueben Droughns to beat you which won't happen and the Falcons will be fine.

1. Kansas City (-1 1/2) at Miami Dolphins

This spread is set so close for the sole reason that the Dolphins beat the Bears down last weekend. Miami isn't an intimidating place to play a football game, the weather is beautiful the fans are old and passive and the team isn't much to get excited about. If this game was in KC, KC would be a monster favorite, but in Miami they give a point and a hlaf. Ha, Herm hands the ball to LJ and more LJ and more lJ and the Chiefs pull out the V in Miami.

Green Bay (+5 1/2) at Minny ... No faith in the Vikings offense
Baltimore (-7 1/2) at Tennessee ... D will confuse Vince
New England (-10 1/2) vs. New York Jets ... Dillon and Maroney make my eyes bleed.
San Diego (-1 1/2) at Cincinatti ... LT? Tough pick.
San Francsico (+6 1/2) at Detroit ... Santa Clara done proud
Indianapolis (-12 1/2) vs. Buffalo ... No Let Down? Rough Pick
Denver (-8 1/2) at Oakland ... Raiders inspired by rivalry? Probably Not.
New Orleans (+4 1/2) at Pittsburgh ... Brees puts up big numbers yet again.
St. Louis (+4 1/2) at Seattle ... Subs don't do it at home.
Chicago (+2 1/2) at New York Giants ... Too many injuries for the G-Men.
Carolina (-9 1/2) vs. Tampa Bay ... Tampa's offense is dreadful.

Lou Holtz is the Homer / Annoyingly Delusional

As my buddy Joe and I always joke, if Notre Dame was suiting up against an all Jesus team, aka a team made up of 55 Sons of God, Lou Holtz would probably still pick Notre Dame to win by a touchdown. So of course this weekend when I'm watching Sportscenter and they have him and fellow old man Corso making predictions, Lou picks ND to beat Michigan. Not that big of a deal, Michigan is a big question mark this year, but of course than Lou says that Notre Dame will win 11 games this year. This is the same Notre Dame that lost to a service academy last year. And just when you thought the douchy homerism was going to end ESPN asks which BCS school is going to be the biggest surprise team in the country. Any guesses to whom it was? I'll give you a clue it was another team he coached. If you guessed South Carolina you would be a winner. Next up on Lou's prediction watch, the Jets win the Superbowl, NC St. wins the ACC, Arkansas dominates the SEC West, Minnesota wins the Big...

Ranking the New York Jets Historical Helmets

There's no way you can't go with the Helmet they won the Super Bowl in. You just can't. Next, I really don't understand why they don't where the helmet with the Jet as their throwback uniforms. That helmet is awesome. Then I'm going with the Helmets from the 80s because it's the classic feel and the white face mask is 10 times better than the black one. And the rankings continue until you get to... The Titans Helmet. I hate everything about those Titan uniforms. The Helmets are boring and the colors are GOD awful. Navy blue and Mustard? What the hell is that. Disgusting. If they wore those unis when I was a kid I'd probably be a Giant fan, and be much happier with my life in football.
