This chart extrapolates the current average attendance to an 81 game home season to see how much dollars a team would need to charge to make up for their entire payroll. Surprisingly, it isn't that much. The average dollar amount is $36 dollars. The Padres are far an away the leader as their salary is embarrassingly low, but because it's always beautiful in San Diego and they have a brand new ball park, people keep coming. Not surprisingly the Yankees lead the way in highest need ticket price per attendant. They do have a payroll of approximately 65$ million more than anyone else, so it doesn't really matter that they are currenlty leading the MLB in attendance.
