The Big 5 College Football Games of Week 8

Coming off last weekends constant action and excitement, it was probably too much to ask for something similar. So this week we get a week where the biggest matchup is outside the BCS.

5. Penn State Nittany Lions at Michigan Wolverines
This is the prime time game on ABC this week, which sounds like a good matchup especially when you look at the 5-1 vs. 4-2 records, the problem is neither of these teams are very good. Penn State plays a joke schedule and Michigan's defense is very very suspect. This game will probably be close but I just don't know if Michigan is quite ready to jump back into the conference race. The Pick: Joe Pa's by 7

4. Tennessee Volunteers at Alabama Crimson Tide
Kiffikins gets his first trip down to Tuscaloosa to battle the #2 Crimson Tide. Kiffikins asked the SEC and BAma if it was ok if UT wore their pastel orange home jerseys against the Tide but Dictator Saban said no. Dictator Saban is also going to lead the Tide to a 20-10 victory. The Pick: Crimson Tide by 10

3. Texas Longhorns at Missouri Tigers
After last weeks victory, the season would look like a downhill stretch of easier games for the Longhorns but then again they did not look very good at protecting Colt. If the Tigers can put up points perhaps they can shock the Longhorns and reopen up the BCS picture. The Pick: Longhorns by 13

2. Iowa Hawkeyes at Michigan State Spartans
The Hawkeyes are eventually going to lose one of these Big 10 games. They've been barely skating by week in and week out and one of these days the home stretch is going to favor their opponent. Just not this week. The Pick: Hawkeyes by 3.

1. Texas Christian Horned Frogs vs Brigham Young Cougars
The BCS only has room for one non-BCS team to raid its party, so if TCU or BYU want a trip down to the Orange or Fiesta Bowls this year than this game is an absolute must win. Last year in Fort Worth the Horned Frogs pummeled BYU 32-7. This year in Provo it'll be a bit closer, but the Horned Frogs are the better team. The Pick: TCU by 19.

Lou Holtz is the Homer / Annoyingly Delusional

As my buddy Joe and I always joke, if Notre Dame was suiting up against an all Jesus team, aka a team made up of 55 Sons of God, Lou Holtz would probably still pick Notre Dame to win by a touchdown. So of course this weekend when I'm watching Sportscenter and they have him and fellow old man Corso making predictions, Lou picks ND to beat Michigan. Not that big of a deal, Michigan is a big question mark this year, but of course than Lou says that Notre Dame will win 11 games this year. This is the same Notre Dame that lost to a service academy last year. And just when you thought the douchy homerism was going to end ESPN asks which BCS school is going to be the biggest surprise team in the country. Any guesses to whom it was? I'll give you a clue it was another team he coached. If you guessed South Carolina you would be a winner. Next up on Lou's prediction watch, the Jets win the Superbowl, NC St. wins the ACC, Arkansas dominates the SEC West, Minnesota wins the Big...

Ranking the New York Jets Historical Helmets

There's no way you can't go with the Helmet they won the Super Bowl in. You just can't. Next, I really don't understand why they don't where the helmet with the Jet as their throwback uniforms. That helmet is awesome. Then I'm going with the Helmets from the 80s because it's the classic feel and the white face mask is 10 times better than the black one. And the rankings continue until you get to... The Titans Helmet. I hate everything about those Titan uniforms. The Helmets are boring and the colors are GOD awful. Navy blue and Mustard? What the hell is that. Disgusting. If they wore those unis when I was a kid I'd probably be a Giant fan, and be much happier with my life in football.
