Well the Bowl season is here so what better way to kick off the season with a nice Helmet Schedule of all the games. Click on the Image to Enlarge

Blogpoll Regular Season Finale

Before you yell and say where is so and so team, please read my polling philosophy and then yell afterwards. ~So here we stand after the completion of the regular season and there is pretty much zero controversy. Auburn and Oregon are the most deserving teams to play in the title game with TCU sitting there undefeated as the third wheel. TCU had a great season and will get a trip to the Rose Bowl, but they had no chance of jumping Oregon and Auburn at the end of the season and even less when Utah their best opponent got crunched by ND. ~Congratulations UConn and Randy Edsall, you won the Big East and get to journey to the Fiesta Bowl to grant Oklahoma their first BCS win in their last 6. As a result of your championship I moved you up a few spots. ~Virginia Tech gets a bump thanks to the ACC Championship. In reality the James Madison loss did nothing to their season except for maybe motivate them to show up week in and week out. Plus it probably made JMU's entire season

Blogpoll Week 14

Before you yell and say where is so and so team, please read my polling philosophy and then yell afterwards. ~Two teams stand in the way of the "this game won't count in 2 or 3 years" championship game of Auburn and Oregon. If Oregon loses to Auburn in the title game, then no one wins the title once Cam Newton is ruled ineligible? ~Goodnight sweet Boise State, may you enjoy your home bowl game against someone inconsequential. ~Good night Les Miles, may you enjoy the Cotton bowl. ~Hello Arkansas, may you pull for Auburn strongly as you shall not enjoy the comforts of the Sugar Bowl if Cam Newton does not hoist the SEC trophy. ~Boomer Sooner is back, ready to win the Big 12 and ready to lose to... insert Big East opponent here. ~In my world, Stanford is not ranked 4th and does not get an auto bid.... I'm slightly unsure why they are ranked ahead of Wisconsin, given their marquee win is Arizona who in reality probably should not be ranked. Holding ont

The Big Ten in the NFL (With Charts!)

Which Big Ten schools are leading the way in NFL player development... Not surprisingly the Buckeyes and Wolverines lead the way for the Big Ten. Also not surprisingly the Buckeyes are starting to put some distance between themselves and the pack. Also Northwestern narrowly tops Minnesota for 2nd to last but both easily eclipse dead last Indiana. The position distribution which with the Big Ten provides the NFL The Big Ten churns linebackers towards the NFL. This is not a surprise. One of their universities is nicknamed Linebacker U. Between Penn State, Ohio State, Purdue and Michigan the NFL has found 30 active linebackers. Team by Team NFL Distribution... HELLO AFC EAST and HELLO NEW YORK JETS. For whatever reason the New York Jets are very Big Ten centric. Over 1/4 of their roster is from the Big Ten. The Dolphins aren't too far behind as well. Meanwhile their NFC EAST counterparts care not for the Big Ten, especially Washington with just two players from the con

Creating an All ACC NFL Team

QB 1: Philip Rivers Philip Rivers takes this with very stiff competition which surprisingly is coming mostly from Vick. Honorable Mention: Michael Vick, Matt Ryan, Matt Schaub RBs 2: Frank Gore & Thomas Jones Surprisingly weak at RB. Miami still leads the way with guys like Gore/Portis/McGhee but only Gore is still in the prime of his career. Honorable Mention: CJ Spiller, Clinton Portis, Willis McGahee TE 1: Vernon Davis Vernon Davis is a beast. If only he had a solid QB. Honorable Mention: Jeremy Shockey, Kellen Winslow, Greg Olsen WR 2: Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson If you have to go just two, I'll take the Johnson boys over Wayne/Nicks. But you certainly would not complain either way. Honorable Mention: Reggie Wayne, Santana Moss, Hakeem Nicks

Blogpoll Week 13

Before you yell and say where is so and so team, please read my polling philosophy and then yell afterwards. ~I'm very comfortable with my top 7 and then... GUH! ~Flip flopped TCU and Boise... why? Virginia Tech is why. The Hokies sleepwalked through James Madison in week 2, since then they have looked like an elite American football program. The win over Virginia Tech on a neutral field eclipses any victory TCU currently has and that is a direct reflection of Utah's devastating beat down at the hands of Notre Dame (which theoretically I should probably equate that loss to a "guh we don't want to play this week cause we lost the biggest game of our season last saturday" type loss in the same way I equated VTs loss, but well no Utah doesn't win any big games and are not going to be a BCS team) ~Speaking of Utah, they are in the poll because tell me where else to go please! The bottom of the top 25 is not very good. I would love for a suggest

Blogpoll Week 12

Before you yell and say where is so and so team, please read my polling philosophy and then yell afterwards. ~Maybe I spoke too soon last week about the TCU over Boise St. thing. I certainly wasn't expecting the Utes to go out and get their poo pushed in by Notre Dame. As a result of that loss the Utes are jettisoned completely. I heavily debated moving Boise ahead of TCU this week, but will wait til after Nevada. ~In addition I'm moving LSU ahead of TCU. Why? Their lone loss is at the #1 team in the country. Why would you expect TCU or Boise to win that game? Their wins are vastly superior to anything TCU or Boise has to offer. They A have a victory over Bama which puts to shame anything on TCU's schedule and certainly is greater than the Virginia Tech game. They have additional wins over a good UNC team, potentially the Big East champ WVU, a good Miss St. team, and a decent but not typical Florida team. ~The Hokies are surging. An 11-2 Hokie ACC Cha
