Quick Notes

~The Celtics succesfully tanked last night by sitting out Al Jeff, Paul Pierce and of course Scalabrine. The loss was a big step in the right direction for the Celtics.

~For all those people that make the point that rewarded the teams that finish in last is bad because teams tanking and sitting out their best players hurts season ticket holders spent good money, I disagree. At this point in time what does every Celtic fan want, Oden or Durant. Any logical Celtic fan realizes tanking is the way to go, for Season ticket holders they know that nothing good is coming out of a Celtic game from now until the end, so it doesn't matter. But imagine what the value of each ticket would be if they got Oden or Durant next year. Through the roof.

~Hollinger named Big Al the most improved player this season and I think he's got a very good chance of winning the award. Since the break his numbers are practically identical if not better than Elton Brand. Woo. An Oden Big Al tandem wins a title I guarantee it.

~Surprise Billy Donovan is staying at Florida, now Kentucky is going after Rick Barnes who's a horrible in game coach. For their sake I hope they get him, so he can suck and get booed out of the arena worse than Tubby. Kentucky get a good coach not just a big name. Give Jay Wright a call please. He would be perfect.

~So I had one last draft with my buddies last night for fun, a free league, no money. I couldn't make the draft cause it got pushed back a day. So I set my prerankings. What does the friggin draft do? Picks up Big Tex, Derek Lee and Konerko with 3 of my top 5 picks, with only a 1B and Util spot available. Then it picked up Rolen when Arod was my first pick. How friggin stupid is this autopick thing. Annoying.

~Was gonna pick Justin Rose as my sleeper pick yesterday, but went with Howell instead, if I didn't I'd currently have the top 2 on the leaderboard in my 4 contenders list.

~JJ was in sole possesion of the lead for about 15 minutes, pretty cool.

~Phil making the turn at +4 not so good Mickletits.

~Saw Blades of Glory last night, pretty funny but not as good as The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.

~I'm so glad I'm at work so I can;t watch Dice-K or the Masters, lame.

Lou Holtz is the Homer / Annoyingly Delusional

As my buddy Joe and I always joke, if Notre Dame was suiting up against an all Jesus team, aka a team made up of 55 Sons of God, Lou Holtz would probably still pick Notre Dame to win by a touchdown. So of course this weekend when I'm watching Sportscenter and they have him and fellow old man Corso making predictions, Lou picks ND to beat Michigan. Not that big of a deal, Michigan is a big question mark this year, but of course than Lou says that Notre Dame will win 11 games this year. This is the same Notre Dame that lost to a service academy last year. And just when you thought the douchy homerism was going to end ESPN asks which BCS school is going to be the biggest surprise team in the country. Any guesses to whom it was? I'll give you a clue it was another team he coached. If you guessed South Carolina you would be a winner. Next up on Lou's prediction watch, the Jets win the Superbowl, NC St. wins the ACC, Arkansas dominates the SEC West, Minnesota wins the Big

Ranking the New York Jets Historical Helmets

There's no way you can't go with the Helmet they won the Super Bowl in. You just can't. Next, I really don't understand why they don't where the helmet with the Jet as their throwback uniforms. That helmet is awesome. Then I'm going with the Helmets from the 80s because it's the classic feel and the white face mask is 10 times better than the black one. And the rankings continue until you get to... The Titans Helmet. I hate everything about those Titan uniforms. The Helmets are boring and the colors are GOD awful. Navy blue and Mustard? What the hell is that. Disgusting. If they wore those unis when I was a kid I'd probably be a Giant fan, and be much happier with my life in football.
