Somehow someway it has been accomplished. The dream basketball season. A season started with a few mishaps but leading to a most Epic Championship, thanks solely to one night. The season started off on the wrong foot. In creating the lightest and least athletic fantasy team in the history of sports, mistakes were made, pre-rankings were botched and with the 1st pick in the first round the White Warriors selected Amare Stoudemire. He was neither White nor unathletic and after another botched pre-ranking effort which lead to the drafting of Quentin Richardson. I immediately looked for trade possibilities and within a few days traded Amare and Q for Pau Gasol and Kyle Korver. After the trade the roster looked like this: 1. (9) Amare Stoudemire PF,C 2. Just when you had come to hope that you would never hear anything about Carl Pavano for the rest of your life you are proven wrong. In fact sometimes its much better to hear delusional people speak. You go to the stadium to see your favorite team play with a bunch of your family members, leaving your pregnant wife at home but taking your young children. The game then ends, your team wins and you venture down from the upperdeck only to find that because you are in a shitty old stadium like Shea Stadium the escalator is broken down and not working so you have to walk down the steps. Somehow someway you lose your balance (perhaps due to an intoxicated decision to try to slide down the escalator) and you fall two stories, smash on the concrete and that's the end, you die on your way to the hospital . Perhaps the man was an idiot and tried to slide down the escalator, either way if you're in a professional ball park the god damn escalators should be functional. The Tigers were all over every station after their first week maladies, but after a 2 game win streak they find themselves only a single game behind the also struggling (but under the radar) Cleveland Indians. Tonight the two face off for the first time of the season and since everyone picked one of the two to win the division lets see who has a bigger cause for concern. Injuries Both teams have experience a decent amount of injuries at the start of the season, with the Tigers suffering more. The Indians had Victor Martinez on the shelf for a little bit but it seems that he is back to near 100%. The Tigers sat Gary Sheffield for a bit with a torn finger tendon and now he's currently playing daily with it. The Indians had to put their closer Joe Borowski on the DL early this week while the Tigers have spent the entire season thus far without Joel Zumaya and Fernando Rodney perhaps their best two setup men.
