Wild Card Playoff Awards

Wow You Guys Suck: Kansas City Offense, That was painful. The whole game was agonizing to watch. I'm sorry but I'm nto going to give credit to the Colts for playing "great" defense. I lay all the blame on the KC offense, which was incredibly predictable, and executed so poorly that somehow the Colts defense came off looking good. Runner Up: Camera Man who decided on the Jets lateral, which I immediately recognized as a fumble, that they were going to avoid showing the remainder of the play.

Cough Cough Cough: Tony Romo, Well this is certainly the obvious pick, unfortunate for Cowboy fans, hilarious for Cowboy haters. Typically its a bad snap or a shanked kick which forces a missed opportunity but to see a perfect snap and Romo just drop the ball an absolutely unbelievable watch. Runner Up: Giants Defense never seemed to step up when they needed to.

This Scarecrow Needs a Brain: Mike Solari, who is Mike Solari well he's the Kansas City Chief Offensive Coordinator whose offensive couldn't get a single friggin first down through the first 40+ minutes of the game. Hell the defense even got Solari and the offense the ball at the 6 on one possession and the offense proceeded to get stuffed twice, Green tripped up by the guard on 3rd down, and a shanked field goal off the post. I would assume that Solari didn't get much sleep this weekend. Runner Up: Bob Sutton, Jets Defensive Coordinator, who continued to bring the blitz even though it never got there.

The Shocker: Seahawk/Cowboy Ending, No end result shocked me, hell I picked every game right but the ending to the Cowboy game was surprising that it had to take this spot. A perfect snap a chip shot field goal and all botched and the season over for the boys. Runner Up: KC's complete inability to run the ball on the Colts.

The Pimp: Tom Brady, I hate Tom Brady with all my heart and soul. He's so good he makes Jabar Gafney look like a friggin pro bowler. He spent the whole game picking apart the Jets secondary and on 3rd down was almost unstoppable. Unlike the last matchup where Brady was constantly pressured, Brady and the O-Line were able to identify where all the blitzes were coming from, keep BRady's jersey clean and allow Brady to easily pick apart the Jets defense, ugh. Runner Up: Brian Westbrook did not make the Pro Bowl (Absolute Joke) but helped end the G-Men's season.

New York Jets MVP: Chad Pennington, Pennington capped off his best season with a very good game that ended with a few unfortunate turnovers. That last int iced the game but it was really the backwards lateral that effectively ended the Jets chances, at that point in time the Jets were smoothely moving the ball on the Pats and were doing everything but putting the ball in the end zone. All in all Pennington played about as good as I could have hoped, and the game just came down to Brady being the best QB in football. Ugh.

Wildcard Extra Quick Notes

~4 for 4 on the picks this week and the reason why I went with all the home teams is simple, unlike in the past few years no Wildcard team was certainly coming in with better momentum than the team they were facing. The Jets perhaps had the most momentum of any wildcard team, but the Patriots were equally as hot.

~If Jeff Garcia goes to the Superbowl, what the hell happens in Philadelphia?

~10-6 and the playoffs was more than I could have possibly expected this season, unfortunately spited down by the friggin Pats yet again.

~How did Mangini only get 3 votes for coach of the year, he had the same record as Payton in a better division and better conference with more question marks and less pro bowlers. All the feel good Saints nonsense won him the award.

~The Giants are really an unlikeable team, their players talk all this trash about each other, their coach always looks miserable on the sidelines and during interviews, their best player is retiring in his prime, their QB looks emotionless and clueless, and they underachieved all season.

~Ty Law still owns Peyton Manning, too bad he's not playing with a QB, Tom Brady, who can put the ball in the endzone.

~D'Brick fall on the ball kid, that was the turning point.

~I hate the 8:00 saturday night game, absolutely despise it, play the games in the friggin afternoon, I like to go out on saturday night, I'm not going to just sit on my ass and do nothing but watch a playoff game pitting two teams I don't root for. In the end I only saw a fraction of the best game this weekend, and I was inebriated when I saw the final big play.

~Someone make sure Bill Parcels did not have a heart attack.

Lou Holtz is the Homer / Annoyingly Delusional

As my buddy Joe and I always joke, if Notre Dame was suiting up against an all Jesus team, aka a team made up of 55 Sons of God, Lou Holtz would probably still pick Notre Dame to win by a touchdown. So of course this weekend when I'm watching Sportscenter and they have him and fellow old man Corso making predictions, Lou picks ND to beat Michigan. Not that big of a deal, Michigan is a big question mark this year, but of course than Lou says that Notre Dame will win 11 games this year. This is the same Notre Dame that lost to a service academy last year. And just when you thought the douchy homerism was going to end ESPN asks which BCS school is going to be the biggest surprise team in the country. Any guesses to whom it was? I'll give you a clue it was another team he coached. If you guessed South Carolina you would be a winner. Next up on Lou's prediction watch, the Jets win the Superbowl, NC St. wins the ACC, Arkansas dominates the SEC West, Minnesota wins the Big

Ranking the New York Jets Historical Helmets

There's no way you can't go with the Helmet they won the Super Bowl in. You just can't. Next, I really don't understand why they don't where the helmet with the Jet as their throwback uniforms. That helmet is awesome. Then I'm going with the Helmets from the 80s because it's the classic feel and the white face mask is 10 times better than the black one. And the rankings continue until you get to... The Titans Helmet. I hate everything about those Titan uniforms. The Helmets are boring and the colors are GOD awful. Navy blue and Mustard? What the hell is that. Disgusting. If they wore those unis when I was a kid I'd probably be a Giant fan, and be much happier with my life in football.
