I hate FOX Baseball

Ok, for all of you out there that think Joe Buck and Tim McCarver are Yankee homers I say first that I don't really think so and second that they suck regardless. Here are a few things that ticked me off about Fox's wonderfully terrible broadcast last night.

1) Joe Buck is everywhere, I think he should now be referred to as FOX guy or Mr. FOX maybe Senor Foxo. I am shocked they don't have him doing the weekly news or guest appearances on Prison Break. How about a late night comedy hour with Joe Buck?

2) Tim McCarver brings up the stupidest stories that no one cares about, how many times is he going to mention the fact that Craig Monroe's mother is named Marilyn, thats great how about you comment on the baseball game.

3) The Dual Broadcast of Buck and McCarver is taylor made for people who rarely watch baseball and do not know and of the intricacies of the game, but if you have played / watched baseball for a substantial amount of time half of the commments that Buck and McCarver make are so blatantly obvious that they are annoying.

4) Apparently FOX needs to broadcast a graphic or interview someone or show the celebrities in the stadium during every inning instead of actually concentrating on the gameplay. I know baseball action can be slow at times, but last night they decided it was vitaly important for them to interview Ken Rosenthal on the sideline so he could give us a fantastic update on Randy Johnsons' back, yet during this conversation a Yankee hit a slow roller by Robertson and out of nowhere Inge comes flying into the screen barehands the ball and guns the guy out at first base, yet the great play-by-play call from Buck was an unenthused "He just bailed out Robertson" followed by him continuing the conversation with Rosenthal and FOX deciding it wasn't important for them to show a replay of the sick play Inge made, so the guy made a webgem, the best defensive play of the game by far, yet FOX doesn't care because who would want to interfere with Rosenthal's air time.

5) I don't care that Wang likes hip hop and the bible and that Casey enjoys reading the Bible while watching the WWF. But thanks for the info.

6) McCarver's expert anaylsis is him comparing two completely different scenarios for instance: Damon on 1st no out 3-2 count on Jeter McCarver says "In this same scenario Giambi didn't run but I think Damon might." Why nto just say I think Damon will run on this pitch due to his speed and Jeters aptitude to put the ball in play. Giambi never runs, why make such a useless comparison.

7) FOX's timing when coming back from commercial breaks has always been terrible. This year it seems like they've limited it to the pitcher is in the windup up when the coverage comes back. Atleast that is better than in previous years where on one instance Manny Ramirez had hit a first pitch for a home run and was rounding the bases when FOX came back from commercial.

Other Notes from Yesterday

~The Twins are in deep trouble after their loss yesterday obviously. Going into yesterday I thought the Game 1s were biggest for the Twins and the Cards due to their vast drop offs from Carpenter and Santana to the remainder of their staffs. Now the Twins are relying on the Boofster to come up with a huge game else they can put their division title banner up now and make reservations for the golf course next week.

~Barry Zito is one of the most underrated pitchers in all of baseball. He always has a stellar ERA, he never gets injured, has thrown 200 plus innings every year other than his rookie season, and Ks a bunch of people. And the biggest of all is he is a big time playoff pitcher, his ERA in 6 career starts is 2.43. He had one average season where his ERA was 4.48 but every other year he has been a top pitcher and a model of consistency. He's going to get himself a nice paycheck with Boras fishing for a contract.

~In the biggest spot in the Pads Cards game yesterday the Pads brought up two former Red Sox second baseman in Bellhorn and Todd Walker, Bellhorn struck out with the bases loaded, surprise, and Walker grounded out immediately following to end the inning and their it was a loss for the Whale's Vagina.

~Mike Cameron in the last inning down 5-1 is still swinging for the fences, this is where a lot of baseball players are dumb, Mike slow down your swing a bit and try to put the ball in play. A 570 foot blast doesn't help you more than a single does.

~Can any Met fan feel comfortable with the thought that El Duque is now not able to pitch at all in this series leaving them to choose Oliver Perez for their game 4 starter? How are you feeling now? Is Pedro "taking" time off in August and September still a blessing? He took time off because he was injured they didn't just give him the Mango Tree vacation, him not pitching was not a good thing it meant he was hurt, you idiots. Now you're left with easily the worst rotation in the playoffs, you don't have a dominant starter which atleast the Cards do with Carpenter and you're relying on Trashbag, an old Glavine who was bad in the 2nd half, Maine who was very good but it will be his first playoff start and then who knows what. If the Mets win the World Series it will be the biggest miracle World Series win for a 95+ regular season winner ever.

~Jeter is a pimp, 5-5, pimp.

~I think the Big Hurt imagines Ken Williams face when the ball comes in smashes it and whispers under his breath, ya I'm selfish you POS, hope your golf game is going well you F'er.

~I almost feel sorry for the Tigers it would have been nice if they played the A's, I would have pulled for them, but now I watch Robertson get shelled and just feel sorry that these clowns couldn't beat the Royals once in the final weekend and now their season is down to two games and somewhat diminishing their great turnaround.

~Hopefully this works at your office it works at mine, here's the NYC ESPN radio so you can listen to the Playoff Game today at work.

Lou Holtz is the Homer / Annoyingly Delusional

As my buddy Joe and I always joke, if Notre Dame was suiting up against an all Jesus team, aka a team made up of 55 Sons of God, Lou Holtz would probably still pick Notre Dame to win by a touchdown. So of course this weekend when I'm watching Sportscenter and they have him and fellow old man Corso making predictions, Lou picks ND to beat Michigan. Not that big of a deal, Michigan is a big question mark this year, but of course than Lou says that Notre Dame will win 11 games this year. This is the same Notre Dame that lost to a service academy last year. And just when you thought the douchy homerism was going to end ESPN asks which BCS school is going to be the biggest surprise team in the country. Any guesses to whom it was? I'll give you a clue it was another team he coached. If you guessed South Carolina you would be a winner. Next up on Lou's prediction watch, the Jets win the Superbowl, NC St. wins the ACC, Arkansas dominates the SEC West, Minnesota wins the Big

Ranking the New York Jets Historical Helmets

There's no way you can't go with the Helmet they won the Super Bowl in. You just can't. Next, I really don't understand why they don't where the helmet with the Jet as their throwback uniforms. That helmet is awesome. Then I'm going with the Helmets from the 80s because it's the classic feel and the white face mask is 10 times better than the black one. And the rankings continue until you get to... The Titans Helmet. I hate everything about those Titan uniforms. The Helmets are boring and the colors are GOD awful. Navy blue and Mustard? What the hell is that. Disgusting. If they wore those unis when I was a kid I'd probably be a Giant fan, and be much happier with my life in football.
