No major movement at the top this week, OSU simply solidifies their place at the top of the poll until they lose a game and a few changes at the bottom of the Rankings.
1. Ohio State Buckeyes - This is a no brainer the Ohio State Buckeyes are the number 1 team in the nation, while I think Iowa is very overrated this season, Ohio State still went into a hostile environment and dominated a game in which the other team was charged with zero yes zero penalties. Quality Wins: Penn St., @Texas, @Iowa
2. Michigan Wolverines - Michigan picked up a nice revenge victory against Minnesota after last seasons last minute devastating loss. The Wolverines looked impressive for the majority of the game until they failed recovering an on-side kick. An undefeated showdown, between the greatest of College Rivals would lead to the biggest regular season college game of this millenium. Both are currently keeping up their part of the bargain.Quality Wins: Wisconsin, @ND
3. Auburn Tigers - Not exactly an impressive win, but a win nonetheless, it's unfortunate that the Cocks couldn't score a last second td to force what could have been a thrilling OT but they did give me an extra 30 minutes of sleep by failing to score.Quality Wins: LSU, @South Carolina
4. Florida Gators - A struggle against an SEC opponent Alabama in the swamp but a win nonetheless, I am starting to wonder why Urban keeps on flip flopping his QB, I think he's going to tamper with Leaks confidence which will lead them to a loss at somepoint during their difficult schedule stretch they are currently in.Quality Wins: @Rocky Top, Alabama
5. Louisville Cardinals - Bye week for the Cards, they need to hold the fort waiting for Brahm to come back in the upcoming weeks.Quality Wins: @K State, Miami
6. Southern Cal Trojans - I expect more from SC against the Cougars of Washington St. not a win where their opponent has the ball and is down less than a td and xp. Southern Cal looks more vulnerable than I thought they would, they need Dwayne Jarrett for more points. Quality Wins: Nebraska, @Arkansas
7. Clemson Tigers - Clemson is the best team in the ACC this year even with all of their LB injuries, their kicker cost them the game in Chestnut Hill and now the ACC is left with zero National Title contenders before the end of September, that is pathetic. But Clemson is their best chance for a big time win in the BCS. Quality Wins: @FSU
8. Tennessee Volunteers - An easy victory over a cross town rival is nothing to brag about. Stays status quo. Quality Wins: Cal
9. Notre Dame Fighting Irish- Ok Purdue, probably overrated, Michigan St. soon will be taken off the Quality win chart. Quality Wins: @Michigan St., Penn St., @GaTech, Purdon't Bad Loss: Michigan
10. Oregon Ducks - Bumped out Cal cause they got the same beatdown as Cal in Sun Valley and they have no bad losses and even though the win over Oklahoma is shaky at best, it still shows that they are on Oklahoma's level atleast. Quality Wins: @Arizona St., Oklahoma
11. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets They easily could have won the Notre Dame game earlier this year, but they certainly showed some strength this weekend by rushing out to a 21-0 lead in Blacksburg and taking down the Hokies quite easily. While I thought they would win, their overall dominance was very impressive. Quality Wins: @VaTech
Dropped Out: TCU after their miserable defeat to the fighting Mormons of BYU, Cal they did nothing wrong just Oregon dumped on ASU this week as well and GaTech's win is big time.
Past Power Rankings: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
Notes
~While my buddy Joe was asking for Sean Glennon to be replaced at QB prior to their loss to GaTech, I have to say he didn't play that poorly, I would say that their biggest problem is that their offensive line could not pass protect at all. In addition their secondary got torched by Calvin Johnson and they failed to appropriately double team him.
~Notre Dame gives up too many touchdowns, they're defense is the same as last season. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they ran the table given their weaker 2nd half schedule and the flaws that the Trojans have shown in recent games.
~Michigan St. is just a horrible choke job program, losing to the Zooker come on they got crunched by everyone, you can't lose that game, heartbroken from the week before or not. A decent school sleepwalks to a 20 point victory over Illinois.
~Arizona St. is always overrated. And their coach is looking like a moron for forcing Sam Keller's hand to transfer out.
