Manny's Honest Opinion

Who cares if the Red Sox lose? I don't and apparently Manny doesn't either.

Actually both of those apathetic opinions are lies. I care if the Red Sox lose because I don't want to continue to see multiple Boston championships. And Manny just is an idiot who doesn't speak to the media for a reason, he doesn't think before he opens his mouth and he says stupid stuff like yesterday. Really there are two ways to look at this, either he just doesn't think before he speaks and obviously cares about winning and losing or Manny is all about himself, explaining his ridiculous celebration on Tuesday, and really would not be at all devastated with losing to the Indians.

Personally I'm just going with he's everything rolled into one a selfish idiot who does care if they lose.

Two Things.

1) I think he said that to relax the young red sox players because they are probably freaking out.

2) This is the way I look at: Manny has produced a lot this post season. I'm sured he'd love to win, but he's doing everything he can. My question is how do you act on friday afternoon before the weekend? Non-productive and probably leave early? Exactly. It's the same thing. It's a job to him and everyone else in baseball. They provide entertainment for a living, its not life or death. He's not going to go home and cry like Susan Waldman. And nothing he said is goign to affect beckett, if anything it relaxes people like pedroia and kelty.

Look at what they did in 04, they watched animal house and hung out with jack. I'd probably do the same thing.

So everyone settle down. It's just a game. And this is just a story because there is nothing else to talk about.

Couple reasons I am ok with his remarks:

1. He's hitting over .500. Would be different if he sucked.

2. He's an idiot. Remember the play a few years back where he was 10 feet from Damon and made a diving catch to grab the cut-off throw meant for the infield?

Numbers On Steroids: Bret Boone

Numbers on Steroids is a look at baseball players during the 90s to see if anything screams out at you. Mr. Boone was once the best power hitting second baseman in the league. How questionable was his success? Averages Say: Why the extra plateu in his mid 30s? At Bats Per Home Run Says: Lowest at Bats Per Home Runs at 37? Hmm.... Explaining It Away Yeak, this one is tough. Umm, late bloomer? He showed potential power early in his career and he just liked playing in Seattle a lot more than everywhere else? And umm, his career was kind of like a running backs in that it just all of a sudden fell off the map? Any of these convincing you? The Verdict Guy never hits more than 24 home runs in a season and then in his age 32 season he hits 37? And in SafeCo a pitchers park to boot? And he follows that up with 24, 35, 24 homer years still at SafeCo? And then he completely falls off the map in 2005 never to be heard from again? We've got a Screamer... Man Get Big Muscles In 30s. Hm...
