Random Stat of the Day: Peyton Manning's Career Sacks

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

The Random Stat of Day is just what it says it is, a very very random stat. But since I like stats and you like learning random useless things, it benefits both of us.

I'm always amazed by how little Peyton Manning gets sacked. Certainly some credit must go to his line and the Colts' protection schemes, but Manning knows how to get rid of the ball quickly and avoid blitzes. So I looked up just how many times he has been sacked in his career, 207 times, which is 1 less than Ben Roethlisburger who has played in 103 less games than Peyton has.
