The New York Yankees are opening up the Yankee Stadium turnstiles today at 3:30 for a free viewing of the Yankees game in Los Angeles. So if you're in the Bronx and want to watch the game from 300 feet away on an 80 foot HD television, than Yankee Stadium is the place for you.
"We wanted to provide a place for our fans to come together to cheer for our team even if the game itself is taking place across the country," team managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner, son of George, said in a press release. "This is a way of of saying thank you for their continued support." [NBCNY]
Umm. Ok. Thanks Hal. I guess. Hal, you know that they do have bars for this sort thing right? But just in case people do go, will there be food and beverage?
"Food and concession stands, as well as the NYY Steak restaurant and the Hard Rock Cafe will be open as well."
I'm guessing that the Food and Beverage will not be free, as a thank you to Hal's pockets.
