Week 8 is starting to bring out matchups that will decide the title runs for each major conference. Each matchup this week in the Big 5 has major implications for BCS contenders.
5. Ohio State Buckeyes at Michigan State Spartans
The Buckeyes and the Spartans face off as undefeated squads in the Big 10. With the fall off of Wisconsin they both find themselves as the major challengers to Penn St. The Pick: Spartans by Degrees of Loss Separation
4. Kansas Jayhawks at Oklahoma Sooners
The Jayhawks now get to join in on the Big 12s festivities unlike last year when they were able to avoid all talented Big 12 South opponents. They'll be getting a rude awakening on Saturday when Bradford throws for 350 yards and 5 tds again. The Pick: Sooners by 17
3. Vanderbilt Commodores at Georgia Bulldogs
Vandy might have lost their slim chance at the SEC East crown by getting croomed last weekend, but they will officially lose their chance when they go into Athens and get smacked in the face by UGA. It was a nice few weeks for Vandy fans but it ends Saturday. The Pick: Bulldogs by 13
2. Brigham Young Cougars at Texas Christian Horned Frogs
As soon as BYU loses a game they can be eliminated from the BCS contenders. Tonight is their first actual challenge heading to the land of previously ranked Purple Frogs. The Sooners were able to manhandle the Frogs earlier in the year and if BYU is for real they should do the same. I just don't see that happening given their week previous opponents. The Pick: BYU by 3.
1. Missouri Tigers at Texas Longhorns
The Longhorns are amidst the the Big 12 Death March. They past the first and largest hump by beating the Sooners. Now they get the 2nd hardest challenge in Chase and Mizzou. Mizzou who is coming off a surprising loss and needs to get back to Ws if they want to stay with Kansas in the Big 12 North. The Problem? Mizzou's defense isn;t very good and Colt McCoy is going to add to his Heisman Candidacy. The Pick: Longhorns by 7.
