NFL Week 6 Awards

Wow You Guys Suck: Cincinnati Rushing Attack, Having gone to the game on sunday it's pretty evident that the Bengals offense is a shadow of its former self. Granted Palmer -> Fitzpatrick is a big downgrade, but they have absolutely no rushing attack at all which hinders any chance of throwing deep passes. They are awful and that is why they have zero wins. Runners Up: Seattle is effective at being miserable this season, the Raiders for being strong in their first game under their Cable guy.

This Scarecrow Needs a Brain: Dan Orlovsky, You've all seen it, no need to elaborate. Runners Up: Aaron Ross might want to stay on his feet when he is covering Braylon Edwards, the Dolphins for having zero linebackers on the final play of the game and letting Schaub easily stroll into the endzone..

Cough Cough Cough: Chicago Bears, Nothing ticks me off more than the squib kick. All game long you kick it deep because that's the best chance to pin a team deep. But then at the end of the game you get afraid of a big run so you effectively give them the ball at the 40. Then you lose. Runners Up: The Refs blew the Lions first win of the season with a horrible pass interference call, the 49ers were outscored 23-0 in the 4th to lose the lead and eventually get blown out.

The Shocker: The Annihilation of the Superbowl Champs, I figured last night could be a trap game and I debated it with my buddy Joe who said they were going to blow out the Browns. I figured it would be a close game but the Giants would end up winning by about a touchdown. And then they go out and get flat out pummeled. Runners Up: The Pats just getting completely manhandled in San Diego, St. Louis winning their first game despite zero offensive tds.

The Pimp: Sean Morey, You're probably asking yourself who the F is that? And well the answer to the question is the awesome special teamer from Arizona that blew threw the Cowboys line and practically snatched the punt out of the air for victory. And down goes the 'Most Talented Team' in the NFL again. Runners Up: Matt Ryan's spectacular pass to set up the game winning field goal, Andre Johnson for reeling in a ridiculous 4th down reception on the game winning drive.

You Got Jakked Up: Mat McBriar's Foot, Not only did Sean Morey win the game for the Cardinals, he also broke McBriar's foot. Which is pretty solid.

My Fantasy Anti-MVP: F'N Everybody,My entire team sucks. I'm done with the Rams and Chad Johnson and Santana Moss and Hasselbeck and every f'n player on my team... when do I get to draft my all white fantasy basketball team again?

New York Jets MVP: Thomas Jones, Oh my Thomas actually figured out that getting into the endzone is a good thing. It's amazing. Congrats Thomas. 3 TDs is 2 more than all of last year.

My Picks

My Picks: 7-7
Preseason Picks: 6-8
Picks Vs. Spread: 9-5
Pick Suggestions: 3-2

Um ya... not very often the Spreadpicks are better than they actual picks. The Pick suggestions remain slightly over the hump, this week thanks to the Lions.

Numbers On Steroids: Bret Boone

Numbers on Steroids is a look at baseball players during the 90s to see if anything screams out at you. Mr. Boone was once the best power hitting second baseman in the league. How questionable was his success? Averages Say: Why the extra plateu in his mid 30s? At Bats Per Home Run Says: Lowest at Bats Per Home Runs at 37? Hmm.... Explaining It Away Yeak, this one is tough. Umm, late bloomer? He showed potential power early in his career and he just liked playing in Seattle a lot more than everywhere else? And umm, his career was kind of like a running backs in that it just all of a sudden fell off the map? Any of these convincing you? The Verdict Guy never hits more than 24 home runs in a season and then in his age 32 season he hits 37? And in SafeCo a pitchers park to boot? And he follows that up with 24, 35, 24 homer years still at SafeCo? And then he completely falls off the map in 2005 never to be heard from again? We've got a Screamer... Man Get Big Muscles In 30s. Hm...
